Navigation Effect

Arrow Keys

 

Changes the highlighted cell.  In the main flight log entry area, the cell will display in reverse color on light text.  If you  move off of the entries into the totals area, the cell will only have a dotted border around it, and will not be highlighted.
Ctrl + Left and Right Arrow Keys

 

Jumps one page full of columns to the left or right.
Tab

 

Moves to the cell immediately to the right of the currently   highlighted cell.  If the cell is gray, it will still move to it.  Smart tabbing only is operational while actually editing an entry.
Shift + Tab

 

Moves to the cell immediately to the left of the currently highlighted cell.  If the cell is gray, it will still move to it.  Smart tabbing only is operational while actually editing an entry.
Page Down

 

Jumps down one page full of flight log entries.  This may jump you into the totals area, so watch where your highlighted cell is.
Page Up

 

Jumps up one page full of flight log entries.  This will not jump you into the column headings.
Ctrl + Page Down

 

Jumps to the very bottom of the current flight log entries.   This will always be the last row of the totals.
Ctrl + Page Up

 

Jumps to the very top of the current flight log entries.   This will always be the first flight log entry currently displayed, and will not jump to the column headings.
Home

 

Jumps to the first column in the flight log, the Log Date column.
End

 

Jumps to the last column in the flight log, which will be the last user-defined column.
Ctrl + N

 

Next Month.  Displays the next months flight log information.
Ctrl + M

 

Previous Month.  Displays the previous months flight log information.
Ctrl + T

 

Next Year.  Displays the flight log information for the month that is one year in the future from the current one.
Ctrl + Y

 

Previous Year.  Displays the flight log information for the month that is one year in the past from the current one.
F2

 

Tells FLIERS that you want to edit the currently selected cell.   (This is the standard key to edit a cell in Microsoft Excel.)
Enter

 

Tells FLIERS that you want to edit the currently selected cell.
Insert

 

Inserts a new line at the bottom of the flight log grid, just above the totals, ready for making a new flight log entry.
Mouse Click

 

Selects the cell clicked on.
Mouse Double Click

 

Tells FLIERS that you want to edit the cell clicked on.

Editing Effect

Left and Right Arrow Keys

 

Moves the blinking text cursor either left or right one character in the cell being edited.  If the Shift key is held down, the text passed becomes selected.
Ctrl + Left and Right Arrow Keys

 

Moves the blinking text cursor to the far left or right side of the cell being edited.
Alt + Down Arrow

 

Displays the pop-up calendar, drop-down list, add-on list, or calculator, depending on which cell is currently being edited.
+  -  *  /

 

If applicable, displays the pop-up calculator and starts the math operation that you pressed.
Home or End

 

Moves the blinking text cursor to the far left or right side of the cell being edited.  If the Shift key is held down, the text that is passed over becomes highlighted for either copying/cutting to the clipboard, or replacing.
Del or Delete

 

Removes the character to the right of the blinking cursor.   If a portion of the text is highlighted, it is removed.
Backspace

 

Removes the character to the left of the blinking text cursor.   If a portion of the text is highlighted, it is removed.
Tab

 

Moves immediately to the right of the cell being edited.   If the cell is gray, it will jump over it (smart tabbing).  Remember to simply click on these gray cells if you need to enter data into them, as they are not really disabled.
Shift + Tab

 

Moves immediately to the left of the cell being edited.   If the cell is gray, it will jump over it (smart tabbing).  Remember to simply click on these gray cells if you need to enter data into them, as they are not really disabled.
F2

 

Saves all changes to the current flight log entry.
Enter

 

While entering data, this key acts the same as the tab key, moving to the right, and smart-tabbing over gray cells.
Esc or Escape

 

Cancels all changes to the current flight log entry.  Be careful, as there is no verifying of the cancel, as any changes lost should be minimal.
Mouse Right Button Click

 

Displays a pop-up menu over the current cell.  This menu, among other things, allows you to add the selected remark to the Remarks list.
Mouse Double Click

 

Displays the current cell's pop-up calendar, drop-down list, add-on list, or calculator.
